Bentley Mk6 – 1950

Basic Information and History

This 1950 Bentley Mk6 was delivered new in Sweden to P.V. Widengren through the company L&P Widengren. Since then, it has had 21 owners, including several notable individuals – among them Hans Werthén, architect Ernst Trägårdh (owner from 1971 to 1991), and Bo Berggren (1991–2001). A complete ownership history is included with the sale.

The current owner has cared for the car since 2012. During his ownership, the Bentley has undergone extensive improvements to restore and preserve its current excellent condition for regular use. Rust repairs and paintwork have been carried out, the central lubrication and ignition systems have been refurbished, and the car has been regularly serviced. A detailed mileage log has been kept since 2012 – a rare historical document that records the car’s actual usage.

Over the past 13 years, the car has been driven approximately 18,000 km.

Equipment and Technical Updates

  1. Electronic ignition (replaces the original points system)
  2. Electric windscreen washer motor

Exterior

The car is in very good condition for regular use, with a charming patina.

Chrome trim and headlamp lenses are in good condition, except for the left headlamp, which appears slightly dull.

No dents, scratches, or door dings.

New 205/80R16 tires fitted in June 2023, with only around 1,500 km driven since.

Interior

The cabin is beautifully preserved in original condition, featuring brown leather upholstery and well-maintained wood trim.

The leather has been regularly treated, and any damage has been professionally repaired.

The headliner shows some water damage from a past sunroof leak.

The radio is the only known non-functional item.

Summary

This 1950 Bentley Mk6 is an excellent example of a well-used, well-maintained, and authentic post-war British saloon. It is not a freshly polished show car – but rather a vehicle that is driven, enjoyed, and appreciated for what it truly is. It offers much of what enthusiasts desire: a strong provenance, solid documentation, sound mechanical condition, and undeniable aesthetic charm.

With a stable and attentive owner since 2012, consistent servicing, and extensive documentation, this is an unusually honest example for anyone who values stylish motoring, mechanical presence, and British character – in every mile.
