Basic information and history

Domestically sold Volvo PV 544C from 1961 in working condition with ten owners over the years. The car has had a B20 installed and front disc brakes by the previous owner. Various parts are included with the car, including the original steering wheel, original sheet metal rims with chrome rings and hub caps, spoke baskets for the chrome rims and various gaskets and other small parts. Original B18 engine on pallet is included, but lacks carburettor and manifold, and that the engine needs an inspection before it is put into use.

Equipped with 2-liter B20 of approx. 85hp, connected to a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

Condition

The general condition is described as generally good, and it is positive that the car is not rusted to pieces. The right rear fender is repainted due to parking damage. The seller informs that there are small rust spots on the outside, stone chips and various blisters in the paint on the car. However, the underside of the car is very nice. Glass in good condition, however the front window has a crack in the upper left corner. The chrome has various wear from the past years. Moldings and lamp glass in good condition. Rims in good condition with only minor surface wear. Tire pattern measures 6mm front and 7mm rear respectively. The front tires have dry cracks, but the rear tires are fine.

The interior has survived the 60 years well. The chairs have typical wear on the upholstery, also in the back seat. A new foiled cover is included. Step in good condition. Door panels have normal wear and tear over the years. Fabric strips around doors are broken as well as door handle on driver's door. The inner ceiling has escaped damage. Steering wheel, buttons and controls in good working order. Knob on ashtray missing. The temperature gauge is out of order because the sensor tube has come off.

Engine is described as being in good condition. The drivetrain is OK and the brakes are in good condition. As previously mentioned, disc brakes are mounted at the front. Mechanically everything works.

Service history

In 2023, the car received new spark plugs, tips, capacitor, distributor cap and air filter. The car comes with some inspection reports. Last inspection was carried out on 2017-09-26.
