Basic information and history

Very nice MG MGA Roadster from 1957. Current owner bought the car 27 years ago from an elderly gentleman in Kungsbacka. He had completely renovated the car from the ground up. The car has since been well looked after, never driven in damp weather and always stored in a warm garage. There are pictures from when the renovation was carried out. The car has been driven at least 50km each year to be conditioned. Today, an MGB engine is fitted and the original engine is included.

Instead of the original engine, the car has received a refurbished engine from an MGB. The engine is a 1.8-liter four with double SU carburettors and with an output of approx. 100hp/150nm connected to a four-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive. More than enough power for one of Britain's absolute dearest people cars. Original engine included on the side.

Condition

The general condition is described as very good. Body is without worse scratches, dents or door knocks. The car is of course also free of rust. Windows in good condition and the car's original window is still fitted. Chrome, moldings and lamp glass are described as being in good condition. The spoked rims are free of damage and the tread depth of the tires is good. The convertible top is new and side windows are of course included. The paintwork is described as being in very good condition and was refurbished as previously mentioned by the previous owner.

The interior is described as being in good condition. Steering wheel, buttons and controls in good condition. Instrument panel as well. The seats and their materials are in good condition with normal wear from the years. The driver's seat is somewhat dull in the colour of the leather and could benefit from a visit to someone who can put a new colour on these. Inner ceiling in good condition. All functions in the cabin work as intended.

The condition of the engine is described as refurbished. The gearbox and driveline are in good condition, as are the brakes. Mechanically, everything works as intended.

Service history

There is various documentation that comes with the car, including a large amount of photos from the renovation and various inspection reports. The last inspection took place five years ago and the car is today inspection exempt.

Summary

A very nice example of MG's popular MGA. This particular car has had its successor MGB's engine installed for a slightly extra fast-paced experience. Completely renovated by the previous owner and now longs to be out on our roads!
