Basic information and History

BMW's first 3 series was born in 1977 and was built until 1983, replacing the next to legendary BMW 02. It was initially built as a sedan but also later as a cabriolet by Baur. The design is iconic for its time with the classic "shark nose" of previous models as well as the Hofmeister kink on the C-pillar.

This Swedish-sold example with 9 previous owners has been driven just under 80,000 kilometers. The car is currently owned by a BMW enthusiast who states that the car is in a solid well-maintained condition. The vehicle comes with an M10B18, 1.8-liter four with injection and approx. 100 hp. This is coupled to a 4-speed manual gearbox that makes the driving experience comfortable on longer trips.

Condition

Around 2010, a minor (approx. 2cm) damage occurred on the rear left bumper, and a decision on a light renovation was made and carried out during winter of 2011/2012. Everything except the roof was then repainted. Lights and various plastic parts on the body were also replaced. Original rims with chrome ring in good condition together with Michelin MXT in size 185/70R13. Lighting, plastic parts and chrome are perceived to be in good condition, as are glass parts. The bumper has been replaced with a new original.

The interior of the car is perceived to be in an overall good condition for its age. The fabric upholstery on the seats is in a well-preserved condition and an indication that the car has traveled few kilometers during its years of life. The door cards and roof lining have, among other things, minor stains but otherwise look fine. Plastic parts have the usual small scratches from normal use. The whole trunk is free of rust and the seller advises that there is probably something small if you carefully search the entire vehicle, but absolutely in solid condition.

Mechanically, the owner describes the car as being in a very good condition. The last service was carried out in 2017/2018. Wheels, brake pads and drums are also perceived to be in good condition. Previous service records are not available, but the overall condition indicates that the vehicle has been taken care of. Under the bonnet, things look nice and tidy and there doesn't seem to be any leaks. The rust-free underside of the vehicle also confirms the consistently good condition.
