Mercedes-Benz SLK – Project for Gullwing Replica

A unique and initiated project for the handy enthusiast

This is a started but far-from-finished build, with the ambition of creating a replica of the iconic Mercedes-Benz 300SL "Gullwing" – based on modern technology.

The foundation of the project is a Mercedes-Benz SLK, which is in good running condition and free from rust. The engine has been regularly started and serviced to keep it in good shape. The donor car has already been cut and prepared for further work, and sills have been welded in place to allow for proper seating once the fiberglass body is mounted.

The included fiberglass body is molded from an original 300SL, giving it an accurate and classic appearance with correct proportions. In order to mount the body properly, a frame/cage needs to be built – tubing for this is included in the sale, as well as the hinges for the signature gullwing doors.
