Basic Information and History
Selling completely without reserve price on Bidders Highway!
1993 marked the end of a Swedish automotive icon: the Volvo 240 series, renowned for its durability, straight lines, and genuinely practical engineering. The final model year was produced in a numbered series and is today a sought-after collector’s item among enthusiasts – not least thanks to the classic 2.3-liter engine and unique details.
Here we offer a Volvo 245 Classic from 1993, numbered as car no. 88 of the last ones produced – proven by the exclusive plaque on the dashboard featuring Pehr G. Gyllenhammar’s signature. In total, the car has had 13 owners over 32 years, with a documented mileage of 303,390 km.
The car was sold new in Sweden. The current seller bought it with the ambition of restoring and preserving it for future generations, but the project never materialized, and the car has mostly been stored in a garage. Fun fact: this very model and final series are highly sought after among collectors and classic car enthusiasts thanks to their status as the last 240s from Volvo’s legendary rear-wheel-drive era.
Please note: the original certificate for the “Classic” edition is missing, but the plaque remains on the dashboard.
