Chevrolet Astro from 1988 rebuilt by legendary Dahlbäck Racing in Borlänge. The car has been given a proper sound system along with comprehensive performance modifications for fast processing of the quarter mile. The car has e.g. drove 402m on the Tierp strip in 11.74 seconds. Not bad for a audio car! The car has had a total of 6 owners and comes in a well-maintained condition. Dahlbäck Racing is known for its builds over the years and has never cut corners when it comes to modifications. For those who don't remember, he built a world-famous Volkswagen Golf which today stands in the VW museum in Germany.

When Dahlbäck Racing builds cars, no expense has been spared. Below is a selection of parts used during construction.

Chevrolet V8 LT1 bored to 383 cui with plenty of trim, including aluminum tops, roll cam and more. The engine is mated to a Gante-prepped 700 box. The front carriage is original and the rear carriage is of the four-link type. Rear axle is shortened 12-bolt heavy duty with Strange drive axles and limited diff. Own oil cooler is installed. The rims are from Cragar and come in size 15x6 at the front and enormous 15x22 at the rear. The width of the rear wheels is a whopping 505mm. Front brakes are original front and rear AP Racing brakes with four piston calipers have been installed.

The sound system in the car is hugely expensive and a selection of parts is listed here. Headunit Pioneer AVIC-HD3 BT, 2 screens from Pioneer in the ceiling, Rockford Fosgate 3sixty processor. Double output stage GAS AlphaX100.4, 2 pieces. Triple bass stage AlphaX500.1. 6 basses from Rockford Fosgate, model P2D215. Intermediate rims, 4 pairs Rockford Fosgate P162c.

In the tailgate there is a Philips 42", double basses and 2 pairs of mid tweeters, also from Rockford Fosgate. Triple batteries in the back and one under the bonnet.

The car is described by the seller as being in good condition and completely rust-free. Paint, glass parts, moldings and emblems are all in good condition. No leakage has been noted from engine or box. The current owner states that the engine and gearbox are in top condition. Tires and rims are also without damage. The only note we were informed about is that the ceiling has a section that needs to be glued. Both mechanically and electrically, everything works as it should.

The vehicle has been regularly serviced by the current owner, but lacks previous records. Last inspection was carried out on 2021-05-07.

An absolutely legendary show car, built by an equally legendary car builder, that plays music as loud as it goes fast in the quarter mile. A definitely different creation!
