Porsche 914/”6” 3.2 Speedster – Willco Show Car, built by Hazze Z

Basic Information and History

This is no ordinary Porsche 914. This unique vehicle is one of approximately 60 converted "Speedsters" from the American company Willco, which in the 1980s specialized in giving the 914 a sportier and more exclusive character. This particular car was their show car – a showcase of what they were capable of.

The car was imported from the USA in 1991 by the legendary Swedish car builder Hazze Z Lindholm, who acquired it from Willco after several years of persuasion. In 2004, the car was sold to Christer Jonsson in Umeå via Kaiser Cars, and in 2006 the current owner purchased it – now owning it for 19 years and having driven it only about 13,000 km during that time.

The odometer currently reads 57,850 km, adjusted by Hazze to reflect the previous unit’s mileage. Now exempt from inspection as a 50-year-old classic, it is ready for both track days and weekend cruising.

Equipment and Options

The car has been extensively modified, both mechanically and aesthetically:

Engine:

  1. 3.2-liter flat-six from a 1987 911, rebuilt and upgraded by K3 in Stockholm
  2. First Film mass airflow sensor
  3. Optimized ECU software
  4. Headers, deleted catalytic converters, full-flow exhaust system (OEM-style system included)
  5. Additional oil cooler mounted in the front
  6. Approx. 250–260 hp

Transmission:

  1. Rebuilt and modified by Micke Svenns with Velios kit (inverted gearbox due to mid-engine layout)
  2. Short shift

Drivetrain:

  1. Driveshafts and wheel hubs from 930 Turbo (5-lug conversion)
  2. Quaife limited-slip differential

Brakes (updated in 2024):

  1. Front: 911 SC vented rotors with cross-drilling and new track brake pads
  2. Rear: Original calipers with spacers and 911 SC vented rotors, also with new pads

Chassis:

  1. Bilstein adjustable dampers all around
  2. Rear: Coilovers
  3. Weltmeister anti-roll bars and alignment kit
  4. Chassis reinforcements in Docol 1000 steel from SSAB
  5. Reinforced firewall and torsion bar support

Wheels:

  1. Fuchs 16x6" original wheels, purchased new by Hazze and sent to the USA for copper chrome plating (7 layers of copper!)
  2. Toyo R888 R tires, 3 years old

Interior:

  1. Tillett seats (same model used in the Caterham 500 R)
  2. Race-inspired interior

Condition

Body: Speedster conversion. Can be restored to Targa configuration; Targa top, engine lid, and rear roll hoop panel included.

Paint: In very good condition

Rust: None

Damage: No rust, dents, or door dings. Damage to driver's side window

Wheels & Tires: No damage, tires in good condition

Interior: No damage to seats, door panels, or dashboard. Convertible top fabric in good condition but not new

Electronics: All systems work except the fan, which only runs at one speed (no heater anyway – it’s a Speedster!)

Service History

  1. Last full service: 2024
  2. Ongoing biannual maintenance by current owner: oil, filters, brake fluid
  3. Valves adjusted twice
  4. Clutch and flywheel replaced
  5. Brakes serviced regularly, most recently in 2024
  6. No workshop receipts – all work done by the knowledgeable enthusiast owner

Summary

This Porsche 914 is something truly special. With a unique history as a Willco show car, further developed by Hazze Z Lindholm in Sweden, it offers a rare combination of provenance, performance, and personality.

With around 250 hp and weighing just about 1000 kg, it delivers real driving joy – especially on track or in slalom. It offers the 911 experience without the classic understeer – and it’s guaranteed to draw attention wherever it goes.

Now up for auction after 19 years with the same owner – who has enjoyed the car immensely but is selling it due to a back injury. A unique opportunity for the next enthusiast to take the wheel and enjoy a car with character, history, and performance like few others.

The odometer shows 57850Km, but any idea about the engine real mileage?

  • JockeiluleVerkäuferJuni 01, 2025 18:26

Based on the information I got from Hans Lindholm he adjusted the ODOmeter to the for the car correct mileage when changing the engine. The engine itself is from 1987 and had approximately the same mileage as the car at the time so in my opinion the mileage is trustworthy. The car was a show-car in US and not used as a daily driver. I have put about 13000 km on it during my 19 years.

Referring to service of the car I have made a full service every second year. So approximately 1300 km between oil changes. The Oil in the gearbox has been changed every 5000 km. The Machinery is in absolute top shape.
