Basic information and history

The year is 1988 and chairman and CEO of the Chrysler Group, Bob Lutz, asks himself the question "What if the company builds a modern AC Cobra?". Few people interested in cars today have failed to realize that the most American thing in the car world is probably the AC Cobra, even though it started as an English sports car. After the test drive along Oakland Avenue in Detroit, it was decided, the most American and brutal vehicle will come to life. It went so fast that from concept to prototype car only took 12 months to complete! To complete the project, the 85 engineers who worked on the car had to enlist the help of Lamborghini.

The car was shown to the public in its concept form as early as 1989 at the North American International Auto Show and the interest was a fact. The ultimate goal of the car was to demonstrate that Chrysler was the best at building economy cars in all vehicle groups, as well as to develop new cost-effective methods of manufacturing and assembly. In addition to these two goals, each also understands the ultimate goal of building something incredibly American. Requirements were e.g. that the car would do 0-160km/h in 15 seconds! In the US, the car was sold as the Dodge Viper, while in the European market it was named the Chrysler Viper.

This 1994 gloss black Chrysler Viper RT/10 comes with massive 8-liter V10 of approx. 395hp/620nm connected to 6-speed manual box. Full torque comes already at 3600rpm. The acceleration from 0-100 takes barely 4.5 seconds and the top speed is almost 300km/h. The car was already imported to Sweden in 2004 and has since had 4 owners. According to the odometer, the car has driven approx. 49.000 km, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Equipment and options

Like any real sports car, the level of equipment is almost zero, except for a stereo, and in this case a removable roof. Instead of a lot of equipment, however, you get a huge engine like no other! Worth noting is that the car has no fixed side windows, airbags or auxiliary systems such as ABS. In other words, a REAL sports car!

Condition

The exterior of the car is in good condition. There is no damage to the bodywork and stainless underneath throughout. The original rims are also in good condition. Emblems and moldings as well. The plastic windows are of course also included.

The interior of the car is in good condition, but there are some signs of age. Leather on the seats looks nice and has held up well from cracks and other wear and tear. Door sides as well. The dashboard is in good condition, however there are stains on the center console. It has also loosened a little at the bottom. The inner ceiling is in good condition. On the passenger side there are marks in the leather under the glove compartment.

Under the hood, everything looks nice and clean. The car has received a set of headers and cat-back system for a little more sound from the V10. Some original parts are included with the vehicle, e.g. exhaust pipes and manifolds. No leaks have been noted.

Please look through our photos to form an idea of the condition. Questions can most easily be asked directly in the comment section.
