Domestically sold Volkswagen 1200 from 1958 in nice original condition, but renovated back in the 90s. The car has been owned by four different families. Current owner has owned it for approx. 30 years and the owner before for approx. 25 years. The car comes with the original owner's manual in good condition and the first registration certificate. The car underwent a total renovation of the body in 1995 and partial renovation of the interior. The car, unlike many other older Beetles, has been in traffic for its whole life, except during a few winters when its been stored away. 

Equipped with a 1.2-liter boxer four of approx. 30hp/75nm mated to a four-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

The general condition of the bodywork is described as good. There is various wear from the past years, including a dent on the left side of the hood, minor wear marks in the paintwork in the usual places, minor scratches on the right front fender, small rust bubbles in various places and other normal wear considering age. As previously mentioned, the body was completely renovated in 1995 and part of the interior. Various rust repairs and full paintwork were then carried out. Chrome moldings, bumpers and hubcaps have some surface rust attack. The tires mounted on the rims have dry cracks but an OK tread depth.

Regarding the interior, the roof is original and the seats and back seat were reupholstered to imitate the original upholstery. Door trim is still original. Carpet and torpedo wall were replaced during the renovation. Unfortunately, the upholstery has come off at the door posts on both. The interior has normal wear considering its age, including marks on the door sills from stepping in and out. Instrument panel, buttons and controls are in good condition for their age. The inner ceiling is in OK condition considering that it is 65 years old. Unfortunately, the indicator light for the direction indicators does not work.

Engine is described as being in original condition. Clutch plates were changed 13 years ago and the car has since run approx. 5000 km. The brakes were replaced in the 90s with other renovations carried out. When you turn the steering wheel to the right, there is a small gap in the steering wheel.

Oil changes and lubrication are carried out before each summer season by the owner. There are several older inspection reports from previous years. In 2017, the car was exempted from inspection.

A nice Volkswagen 1200 in original condition, but not untouched original condition. Perfect car for those who want to concentrate on enjoying the vehicle out on the roads, and at the same time have a little fun and meekness when the weekend offers rain.
