Basic information and History
Porsche's iconic 928 model, intended to replace the 911 model, was the first Porsche model to be developed entirely on its own. They chose to place the engine at the front and move the gearbox to the rear to achieve as even a weight distribution as possible. This meant a well balanced car and with its V8 under the hood it had really good performance for its time. The body was made of galvanized steel and to further reduce the weight, the hood, front and side wings were made of aluminium. The S model got wider wheels, a more aerodynamic front and a rear wing. The biggest difference was under the hood where there was now a 4.7L engine with 310 hp.
The Porsche 928 was an extremely expensive car for its time and became for most only a dream car. This is a Swedish-sold "barnfind" example that also acted as a show car at Porsche when it was new and is now being sold as a smaller project. This particular model year has the advantage of having the new interior with updated seats and extended leather on the dashboard.
Equipment and Options
Factory painted in gray metallic (Meteormetallic) and a fantastic period burgundy interior as well as extended leather on the instrument panel. No sunroof.
The car is equipped with the coveted manual "dogleg" gearbox with one down on the left, electric seats on the driver's and passenger's seats, electric lifts and original stereo.
Condition
Exterior: The body is virtually free of damage such as dents and the like, but the car is in need of a brand new paint job. Front aluminum fenders have been damaged as well as the panel under the windshield and the paintwork is generally bad. It is absolutely possible to use it in this exact condition if you would like one with a little more "patina", but given the fine history and equipment, it would deserve an exterior paint job. The side moldings that are missing are hard to come by, but replacement moldings and clips are included! The original wheels are in good condition and the tires have a lot of pattern (about 6mm), but are a couple of years old. The pop-up lights work flawlessly and there are no complaints about lighting or glass parts. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Interior: The really nice interior has been dry-cleaned and renovated by Alfa Sadelmakeri in Stockholm and is in very nice condition. The dashboard and steering wheel are in good condition and all functions work except for the AC which needs a review. Driver's seat and gear lever have traces of use, as does the luggage compartment. The original and coveted tool kit is still in the car and of course the spare wheel is also included. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Mechanical: Runs very well in engine and gearbox and there are no leaks noted. As the car has been standing for about 10 years, the rear brakes are still in use and in need of an overhaul, however brand new discs and renovation kit are included in the purchase. Last inspection was 21/03/2016 and there are no previous service records. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comments!
Summary
Porsche's 928 models have seen quite a boost lately in the classic car market. Companies that have started to modernize 928s where they keep the classic design with modern technology means that the popularity of these models only increases. Here is the chance to bid on a solid car that only requires a minor overhaul to be used, and a slightly bigger overhaul if you want it in top condition.

Hej!
