Basic information and history

Very unusual Kaiser Deluxe Club 2-door from 1953. According to the Swedish Transport Agency, there are only two registered in Sweden. The car was imported in 2006, probably from the USA, and has since had five owners. These five owners are from three families according to current owners. According to information, only 1227 will be manufactured. The car has received a Cheva 350 instead of the original engine, which is a side six of 3.7 liters. Original engine was rebuilt with new pistons, valves, bearings, seals and gaskets and ran for one season before being pulled out. It also includes the original rear axle, which has been removed as it needs new bearings. If you want to reassemble the original engine, the engine mounts must be welded and the rest can be bolted. The electrical system has also been converted to 12 volts.

Condition

The car comes in a good condition for its age and gives a very good overall impression. Bodywork is free of dents and worse scratches. The owner informs that there is very little rust on the front of the hood. Remarks on the bodywork and paintwork are photographed and can be seen in the pictures. Among other things, the paint has risen at the front of the hood, in the right corner. There are stone chips in the middle of the hood and on the A-pillar on the left side. There are paint chips at the bottom of the driver's door as well as paint chips and stone chips below the windshield. The B-pillar on the left side also has some paint chipping. Previous owners repainted the outside of the car but the current owner advises that a wet sanding would have been good for a better result. The front side windows have been replaced, the remaining windows are original. There are some small scratches from the years gone by but no cracks or large stone chips. Original rims without damage with Coker Classic tires with approx. 5-6mm pattern depth left.

The interior is original and has been slightly sun-bleached after all these years. The color has probably been the same pink as the ceiling. The inner ceiling is slightly discolored against the windows. A new floor mat is in place but is not shaped. The center console is self-built. Chairs and seating surfaces are in good condition for their age and without damage. Door panels are also in good condition for their age, but the left rear door has two tears. The steering wheel has dry cracks, but the buttons and controls are in good condition. Next to the ignition key, there is a drill hole in the instrument panel. There is an installed stereo hidden behind the Kaiser hatch in the center. Otherwise, the cabin is original and all functions work as they should.

Engine is described as working well. As previously mentioned, it is a Cheva 350 with an aluminum intake and Holley 600 carburettor. Now warned owners have towed caravans without problems and inform that the engine draws neither oil nor water. There is a cooler for the engine and gearbox under the front bumper. Front brakes are original and rear are from a Ford. Rear brakes are approx. 5 years old. The gearbox and drive train work without any problems and the oil has been changed regularly. The gearbox is a TH350 and the rear axle a Ford 8" with 3.0 in gear and therefore does not rev very much.

Service history

The current owner has changed the oil and filter in the engine and gearbox this summer. The owner has also changed the oil and filter in both engine and gearbox every year during ownership. The last inspection took place in August 2017 and the car is now inspection exempt.

Very unusual 50's car that you are unlikely to come across when you are out riding. The car comes in great condition for its age and is ready to be enjoyed!
