Basic information and History

Mercury, one of the Ford brands, produced the Monarch model between 1975 - 1980 and with the Ghia designation it was the most well equipped model. Several members of Ford's management drove the model, including Henry Ford II himself.

This Swedish-sold example has the largest engine offered for the model, a 351 Windsor (5.8L) V8 with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller says that the car has undergone a major renovation including painting and undercarriage treatment in 2020, and that the interior has received a major refresh with, among other things, new upholstery in the seats, new carpet and roof. It comes with a folder with a lot of history about previous owners and the renovation.



Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in a very nice refurbished original condition without any remarks. The car was painted in 2020 and is of course completely rust-free and without any remarks on either glass, chrome details, moldings or emblems. Interior: The luxurious original upholstery and interior are in very fine original condition with new padding both front and back by a recognized saddle maker in Uppsala. The carpet and headliner have been replaced with new upholstery and there is also a modern stereo in the car. The instrument panel and the rest of the interior are in good condition with no major complaints. All controls and gauges work. Mechanics: The car runs fantastically well in both engine and gearbox and has no complaints about the drivetrain. The engine is a refurbished and serviced 351 Windsor V8 that has only driven about 4000km since the work was done. Completed and renovated brake system and new exhaust system. Summary

A nowadays quite unusual but very luxurious and nice model in a nicely renovated condition, ready to be used daily or enjoyed during the summer and driving around at car meets or other nice outings!
